Volunteer with WREN!


We will be offering two new volunteer trainings! We will introduce you to WREN's programs, the volunteer opportunities available, and train you in our field trip content. Light refreshments will be served. We will also be offering a refresher for those who have volunteered with WREN in the past.

WREN's Wetland Wander at Willow Creek!

WREN's Wetland Wander this month will be on Tuesday, March 13th, 9:00 AM-11:00 AM. 

Join Matt Benotsch, Willamette Valley Stewardship Coordinator, on a tour of the restoration work being done in the Willow Creek Natural Area! There will be much insight into the rehabilitation and management of this key habitat.

Directions: Follow 18th Street west of Bertelsen. Please park in pull-outs on the north side of the street. Look for WREN staff.

Wetland Wanders are casual walks through the West Eugene Wetlands. Walks are free and open to the public. Bring water and appropriate layers, WREN will provide binoculars.

February 13th Wetland Wander


WREN's Wetland Wander this month will be next week, February 13th from 9-11. We'll be walking at Wild Iris Ridge.

Directions to Wild Iris Ridge: From west 18th, turn south onto Bailey Hill Road. Turn left on Warren St. and go 1/3 mile; Turn right to stay on Warren Street. Turn right on Summit Terrace. Turn right again on Bailey View and follow it to the end.

WREN Wanders are casual walks through various West Eugene Wetlands sites. These exciting opportunities are FREE to the public and provide observation, education and inspiration in our surrounding natural spaces. WREN staff and volunteers will guide this walk. Participants should bring water and wear muck boots. WREN will provide binoculars.

Wetland Wander at Stewart Pond

Join Dave Pete, WREN Program Coordinator, on a walk at Stewart Pond Disc Golf Course. Dave will bring the new interpretive panels that WREN created and tour the ecology of each hole on the course. Participants are welcome to bring discs as well as binoculars while we play and/or walk the course.
Directions: From West 11th Ave, turn north onto Bertelsen Road. Turn right onto Stewart Road, follow until end and park in gravel parking lot. 3853-4099 Stewart Rd, Eugene, OR 97402

Wetland Wander Dec 12th at Meadowlark Prairie

Join Diane Steek, City of Eugene Wetland Ecologist, for a wander along the Fern Ridge Path. This is a great time of year to see numerous bird species as the seasonal ponds are reforming and large flocks are passing through.
Participants are asked to meet at the Meadowlark Prairie Overlook located at 88525 Greenhill Road, south of the intersection with Royal Avenue. There is plenty of parking, but since it's right on the bike path, biking is a great option as well.
