Great Copper Butterfly Walk

Location: Meadowlark Prairie; Greenhill Road parking lot.

Join David Hagen, from the Eugene Chapter of the North American Butterfly Association, in search of the Great Copper butterfly. This butterfly was once thought to be extinct from Western Oregon, but has been recently rediscovered in our very own West Eugene Wetlands. Catch, ID, and release other lepidoptera, learn about nectar plants, and more!

WREN values collaboration; for the past 15 years, we have been part of the Rivers to Ridges Partnership, a group dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents in the upper Willamette Valley by working together to protect and enhance the region's land and water resources and their ecosystem functions and values. WREN offers a variety of educational outdoor experiences for the whole family.

In the summer we offer Family Exploration Days where you can check out a pack of guides, binoculars and other tools of exploration and get to know your local wetlands.

Our popular Wetland Wanders are year-round on the second Tuesday of every month and change location and guide every month with topics ranging from turtles to wildflowers and lichens.
